North Country Event (NCE)

Liability Waiver, Assumption of Risk and Indemnification Agreement

By purchasing a ticket and or attending The North Country Event (NCE), you acknowledge, understand, and agree to the following terms.


Assumption of Risk

Participation in an outdoor gathering that may include camping, vehicle based travel, trail exploration, instructional clinics, technical driving activities, and community events involves inherent risks. These risks include but are not limited to:

• Uneven or unstable terrain
• Vehicle movement, recovery operations, and mechanical failure
• Participation in organized trail rides or vehicle related activities
• Instructional clinics or demonstrations related to outdoor travel or vehicle equipment
• Technical driving courses or vehicle obstacle areas if offered
• Weather conditions and environmental exposure
• Fire exposure including campfires or open flames where permitted
• Wildlife and environmental hazards
• Physical activity and exertion
• The actions, negligence, or misconduct of other participants, spectators, or third parties

By attending the event, you voluntarily assume all risks, known and unknown, foreseeable and unforeseeable, associated with participation.


Alcohol Acknowledgment (BYOB)

Alcohol is not sold or provided by The North Country Event (NCE) or North Country Outdoors.

Any alcohol consumed during the event is brought and consumed at the participant’s own discretion and risk. Each attendee accepts full responsibility for their actions, behavior, and any consequences related to alcohol consumption.

If a technical driving course or vehicle obstacle area is present:

• Alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited for any participant operating a vehicle within the course area
• Event staff or organizers may remove any participant from course activities if alcohol impairment is suspected


Technical Course and Spectator Safety

If a technical driving course or designated vehicle activity area is present:

• Drivers must follow event instructions and operate vehicles in a safe and responsible manner
• Spectators must obey all signage and instructions provided by event staff
• Spectators must remain behind designated barriers, blockades, or safety zones
• Entering restricted course areas without permission may result in removal from the event


Fire Restrictions

Campfires or open flames may be permitted depending on current land conditions and fire regulations.

If fire restrictions or bans are in place:

• Campfires may be prohibited
• Alternative communal gathering methods may be provided
• All attendees must follow event instructions and local fire safety requirements


Prohibited or Restricted Activities

For the safety of all participants, certain activities may be restricted or prohibited unless specifically authorized by event organizers. These may include but are not limited to:

• Operation of chainsaws or power cutting equipment
• Use of ATVs, dirt bikes, or other off road recreational vehicles
• Discharge of firearms or fireworks
• Unsafe vehicle operation or reckless behavior
• Use of equipment or activities deemed unsafe by event staff

Event organizers reserve the right to restrict or remove any activity, equipment, or participant that presents a safety concern or violates event rules.

Failure to comply with event safety instructions may result in removal from the event without refund.


Release of Liability

Attendees release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless:

• North Country Outdoors
• The North Country Event (NCE)
• Event organizers
• Landowners
• Volunteers
• Staff
• Sponsors and vendors

from any and all claims, liabilities, injuries, damages, losses, or causes of action including personal injury, property damage, or death arising out of or related to participation or attendance, to the fullest extent permitted by law.


Participant Responsibility

Participants are responsible for their own actions, safety decisions, and conduct during the event. Outdoor recreation and vehicle based travel involve personal responsibility, and attendees agree to exercise reasonable care for their own safety and the safety of others.


Vehicle Responsibility

Any vehicle operated during the event, including participation in organized trail rides or travel on nearby roads or trails, is operated at the driver’s own risk.

Drivers are responsible for:

• Safe operation of their vehicle
• All passengers or ride alongs
• Compliance with event rules and instructions
• Operating their vehicle in a safe and lawful manner

Vehicle related activities involve heightened risk and participants accept full responsibility for any resulting damage or injury.


Minors

The attending adult certifies that they are the parent or legal guardian of any minor attending with them. The adult consents to the minor’s participation and agrees that the minor is bound by the terms of this waiver.


Medical Authorization

Event staff may obtain emergency medical treatment for any participant or minor if deemed necessary. The attendee accepts responsibility for any medical costs incurred.


Indemnification

Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless North Country Outdoors, The North Country Event (NCE), landowners, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from their participation, actions, or omissions.


Photo and Media Release

Participants grant permission for photographs and video recordings taken during the event to be used for promotional, marketing, and documentation purposes without compensation.


Acknowledgment and Agreement

By purchasing a ticket and or attending the event, participants acknowledge that they have read, understand, and agree to this waiver.

Attendees may also be required to reconfirm this waiver at event check in prior to participating in event activities.
